Trauma & PTSD/C-PTSD
You deserve support that understands your whole experience.
Many neurodivergent individuals carry the effects of trauma, including what is commonly called PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) and complex PTSD. Trauma can show up as feeling like you are constantly in survival mode, being on high alert, experiencing shutdowns or overwhelm, struggling to trust others, or carrying the weight of experiences such as bullying, rejection, masking, sensory overload, chronic misunderstanding, or relational wounds.
Emerging research and neuroaffirming perspectives recognize that being autistic or ADHD in a world that is often not designed for your nervous system can contribute to chronic stress and traumatic experiences. Differences in sensory processing, emotional regulation, attention, communication, and how you perceive and interact with the world can create increased vulnerability to overwhelm, invalidation, and repeated experiences of feeling misunderstood or unsupported.
This does not mean being autistic or ADHD is a problem to be fixed. Your neurotype is a natural variation of the human experience. However, navigating environments that do not always accommodate your needs can create real emotional wounds and ongoing stress responses that deserve care, understanding, and support.
We recognize that trauma can look different for autistic and ADHD individuals—and that these experiences are often overlooked, misdiagnosed, or misunderstood. Our approach provides a safe, affirming space where you can explore your experiences without judgment, reconnect with your strengths, and heal in ways that honor your unique nervous system.
You do not have to force yourself to fit into a healing model that was not created with you in mind. We will work together at your pace, using approaches that support regulation, safety, self-understanding, and meaningful healing.
Dissociative Experiences/DID
You deserve a space where every part of your experience is understood and respected.
We offer neuroaffirming therapy for individuals experiencing Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) and other dissociative experiences, grounded in safety, respect, collaboration, and compassion. If you experience dissociation, we recognize that these experiences are not signs of being “broken” or something that needs to be erased. Dissociation is often an adaptive response that the brain develops to help cope with overwhelming experiences, stress, or trauma.
Research and clinical experience have identified higher rates of dissociative experiences within neurodivergent communities, including autistic and ADHD individuals. Many neurodivergent people experience increased vulnerability to chronic stress, sensory overwhelm, invalidation, masking, relational trauma, and repeated experiences of not feeling understood or supported. For some individuals, these ongoing experiences can contribute to dissociative coping responses as the nervous system works to create safety and manage overwhelming emotions or environments.
Your experiences make sense in the context of what you have lived through. We recognize that dissociation and DID can look different for each person and that these experiences are often misunderstood, stigmatized, or misidentified.
Our approach creates a compassionate, non-pathologizing space where you can explore your internal experiences at your own pace. We honor all parts of your system, supporting self-understanding, internal communication, safety, and increased connection with yourself. Healing is not about forcing change or meeting someone else’s definition of recovery—it is about supporting you in building a relationship with yourself that feels safe, respectful, and aligned with your goals.
You are the expert on your own experience. We walk alongside you with curiosity, compassion, and respect for your autonomy, supporting your healing journey in the ways that feel right for you.
